Well is it? Some people say it's bad, but i dunno.......

Doesn't make any real difference if you are going to get close exam marks as well. Only place it really matters is first.

Really? so what if one of the them bombed out of the exam though? would it be really bad for the person with the same rank but went good in the exam ?

from what i understand, being ranked equal in a subject only really matters if its equal first, because in that case, you get an average of both persons scores.

I'm in that situation for Drama and its pretty ordinary!

oh crap. im ranked equalled first in std english and dnt. but im tied in both instances with friends so i guess that makes me feel a bit better.
