i think biology is easy in that you don't necessarily have to even understand what you're learning, you just have to memorise it and be able to bullshit it back out in the exam. not that everyone who finds biology hard is an idiot, but i just found it to be my easiest subject that required little/no study at all.

Well it certainly isn't 'rocket science', though it isn't easy either.
I think the most difficult thing about biology (VCE bio anyway) is the amount of content in the course. There is so much to be remembered for exams.

You shouldn't say that it isn't "rocket science" unless you've done Biology at university. HSC/VCE provide a limited scope of what Biology really is. The demand and difficulty for areas such as biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics is tremendous.

Yeah, my friend has told me the same thing about Uni level Bio. She tells me to know it inside out now because it helps then.

Mmm, uni biology sounds difficult.
I had a bio tutor for about 2 months - I think she was doing some kind of Masters degree in bio and she would often tell me how difficult uni bio is compared to year 12 biology.

i personally think hsc bio is quite easy but that is because i study.
the best way to undrstand the course is to do all the dot points in the syllubus
it helps as excellent study notes
(p.s im 4th in the grade :( !)

What's that mean?

Anyway, my teacher told me that the genetics stuff we learn in high school is all so simplified that it's wrong...

Biology in Vic is not that hard if you know the course well and know wht to study...

i suppose like everything, some concepts are easier to understand than others, and with teachers - well, they've got to be able to convey what the know. for me, it's a lot of work, our class has had about 3 teacher changes so far and a new one is meant to be coming in and its stuffed the class around a lot.. and because i'm also doing agriculture some of it is repetitive.. but its a pretty alright subject.. just have to put the work in.
