i am wondering how people get work experience in the industryy they want to later work at. is it through UTS? i know there is that accounting cadetship.

I know that if you're in nano and interested in industry placement they can work stuff out for the summer between second and third year. I expect that similar things are possible for other courses.

if you want work experience you go look around for one yourself..
if your course caters for it like engineering they provide a site [i2ms] where companies/organisations post jobs -- though.. you sohuldn't trust this method too much..
best way is to write/call/go into a place and explain your situation..
saying you just want experience, they'll actually consider you.. but be enthusiastic when your speaking to them about it --
you can also try the uts careers website [i have no idea what it is..] or look on level 3 -- concourse level of building 1 [entry into building 2 -- there are a various job postings there..
