What is the island of stability and what is it all about?

You're probably referring to the theoretical notion of there being an "island of stability" of elements further out in the periodic table (elements we have NOT discovered yet).

There is some evidence for this.

Interestingly if i remember correctly that highest Atomic number of an element we can EVER achieve is 139 (or 141) Then the atom collapses onto itself and becomes another lower atomic mass element.
