Went to our local art shop today with my mum who got talking to the owner.
She was talking about how some kids send their artwork BOW like sculpture, screen printing etc out to external organisations who create or put finishing touches to designs and that it was all perfectly legal.

Is that correct? If so how does that work and what are the guidelines for this? All sounded awfully strange to us.

as long as the original plans and work belong to the student i dont see whats wrong with it, but i think they would need like extensive plans and whatnot in their VAPDs. i was gonna get a company to print my images on canvases but due to the cost i changed my idea

But getting a company to print your images is alot different to getting them to alter it.

i think to a certain level it would not be considered cheating as in the artworld, some artists plan and do the basic outline of their artwork then outsource it. however, the meaning depicted in the artwork should not be altered.

with my major work, i bought MDF and got a kitchen place to cut it to size. my teacher said it was ok because its not changing the meaning or anything.
