Yes, you have to do it.
No, judging by your spelling, grammar and syntax currently (although it's not perfect), you'll more than likely pass. If you can string together sentences confidently, you'll be fine. You don't need to know big words, definitions of specific things and so on.
Nothing to be concerned about. If anything, it'll likely be a waste of time to a lot of people, but there are those who need it and there are those who will benefit form doing it (in terms of what will come subsequently).
