Wow, I remember reading the markers notes from previous years and all of them say that ITSOAL is the least popular text chosen.

I guess it really shows.

My thesis was that his narrative techniques allowed him to tell the smaller stories in order to represent the true identity of Canada. Fascinating stuff.

oh, hmm interesting.
my thesis was something like
Ondaatje uses his narrative techniques (image patterns, flashbacks, flashforwards etc. ) to empower the marginalised immigrant working class, and present the interconnected nature of humanity through memory and storytelling.
Something along those lines anyway.

I quite enjoyed In the Skin of a Lion. I would read it again sometime.
