Kanji rocks. If I don't get SciLaw I'll probably get Sci/IntStuds, which means I won't have spoken any Japanese for a year before starting classes again. I'm already forgetting most of my Kanji... :(

we're focusing on kanji recognition, not going to have to write it.

i'm starting japanese at uni, and my sensei (man, i gotta get used to calling her that) said that we only learn around 70 kanji characters...

i guess so... though i taught myself some hiragana and some random phrases a few years ago o__O;; it's pretty easy atm. the tutor is weird.

another thing, do you guys have hints for learning the hiragana, cos im finding it hard to remember them all!

Go look at those high school textbooks with the mnemonics, usually the pictures and descriptions (like in Isshoni) help a lot.

Also, practice writing them EVERY DAY. And write out those flash cards and test yourself, that helps a lot too. Don't buy them, WRITE THEM OUT.
