i am shamefully uninformed about uni in general. can anyone give me a quick summary of everything-you-need-to-know-about-uni? all i know is that i want to do psychology, but how do the courses work? you have to do supplementary subjects as well, right? with psych as the major? and what's the deal with arts as opposed to anything else and... ahhh *head explodes*
help!

It depends... go to the www.usyd.edu.au website and search up Psychology, and read the course outline, some courses actually have all the subjects pre-selected for you, and some have compulsory subjects and free electives for you to choose.

arts (psychology) wont give u licensing.....

arts in general allowes u to do a range of courses i guess......

Selecting subjects, too many questions, the slow system employed by the Science faculty (surname to surname along with specialised degrees at a certain time, but with so many students it's the only way)... All of that was back in 2002 for me, though. It may have changed.

I was there for... 3 hours, 2 of which were spent selecting subjects (and running between the Chemistry building and McLaurin Hall). I kind of pushed in at the initial stage, though, which was great.

I knew my core subjects, but I did not know what else to select (BSc, BA). I thought that I was going to be there for some time, too, so i was there at 9 to avoid any problems with the lunch break. The three hours did not bother me at all with it basically setting the stage for the next five years of my life.

Which is still bad. I originally anticipated something along the lines of 10 - 30 minutes.
