Kerala rightly called as ‘the God’s Own Country’ is the only place where you can find the unspoiled nature at its best. This popular tourism destination is home to numerous unspoilt beaches, hill stations, mountains, rivers and lagoons. Perhaps you will never come across such a large unspoilt piece of natural wealth anywhere in India.

The unspoilt backwaters of Kerala are host to a wide variety of exotic marine wealth. They have the ability to survive in the brackish and fresh water conditions around the backwaters. The existence of such a huge diversity in marine wealth in itself is evidence of the unspoilt natural surroundings and the care taken by the people living around this fragile ecosystem to protect it.

Walk into the hill stations and you will be literally caught up in the natural beauty of the land. The unspoilt Western Ghats is home to a large diversity of flora and fauna. A protected biodiversity area, it is home to virgin evergreen forests. The unspoilt forest wealth is tapped by the practioners of naturopathy to treat the various ailments deemed to be incurable through the allopathic route.

The state is also a host to more than 500 Kms of unspoilt long sandy beaches. Many areas of this beachfront of the state remain unexplored. The Kerala Tourism initiative is now laying renewed emphasis on tapping the beach tourism options along the sides of the various forts and other monuments built by the former rulers along the long coastline.
