Economically, collectivisation was a disaster. between 1929 and 1934 the horse populations of the Soviet Union fell 55%, cattle 40% sheep 66% & pids 55%. Grain production dropped BUT grain exports rose.
Two major benfits of destruction of Kulaks = grain exports rose & gov't now had total control over rural sector.
