Laptop problem (2 Viewers)

Something is seriously wrong with my laptop and i have no idea what it is. I don't know much about computers, so yeah.

Well it requentely turns the screen off but the laptop is still on its just the screen dies and i try to turn it off and sometimes it won't turn off and if it does turn off when i turn it back on again it won't load.

Anyone have any ideas whats wrong.

Sounds like Window's power saving features. Try change the power settings in your control panel and see if it helps.

I tried that and its still happening.

Does it always happen after a fixed period of time? Does it only happen when you don't use the computer for a while?

Try updating any drivers you find from the laptop manufacturer, and download updates for your version of Windows.

It just happens randomly ... no set time.

Disable any power saving features you do have.

Does it correlate at all to battery levels?

What operating system are you using? Windows XP home/professional, Windows 2003? Worse? (just kidding)

Is your battery old ? Was it just replaced? maybe get a new one from the manf.

i'm using xp professional. I don't know how old the battery is ... i've only had the laptop for a little over two months.
