What happens if there was an unreasonable large gap between someone's internal mark and their external mark.
Example: a student doesnt do well internally for some reason whether it's the school's fault or the student's fault and scores 75 moderated internal mark but gets 99 aligned external mark.
Would it still be average or would there be some sort of system to investigate the massive difference?
I was told by BOS that a school can set assessments however they want so, in theory, it would be acceptable for them to make it outside the syllabus and teach only 1 student the content. It would be unfair but by what the BOS told me, it looks acceptable. The school's excuse in this case could be something like, "we reward students who further themselves".
