If an assessment is worth 10% of my final mark, with a late penalty of 2 points per day, does that mean that, if i hand it in a day late, my maximum mark will be 8/10, or 98/100 scaled to 9.8/10?

this is an arts subject? if it is, its the 98/100. (I remember my tutor saying how that was a joke)
