hey is there any chance that you can get into a course without a v next to it in the late round, i guess not but is it worth trying?

Yes you can, provided people turn down their offer in the main round, which makes vacancies for the late round.

ed: Do not count on it though. It is safer to accept your main round offer and turn that down once you know you've got a late round offer.

yeah if you read the first page of the pdf file which shows the cutoffs, it says vacancies may arise.
