What does the question mean by case (i.e. random scenario or an actual legal case)?

Hmm, the whole question is this.
Compare at least TWO Australian court proceedings using a newspaper article reporting on a case currently before
the courts. You must include a copy/print out of the legal article referred to, referenced appropriately. In your
response, to be presented in report format, you should include:
• The type of court (district or local) the cases are heard in and why
• The type of case (criminal or civil) and identify the key difference between the two
• The details of the accused, the crime committed and the plea
• Identify the elements which must be proven for the people to be convicted
• The verdicts and the legal reasoning behind them
• The sentences if applicable/available
• Any legal issues/areas of contention that may have been brought up in the cases.

For this question, I think what they are trying to ask is whether there are any contentious issues arising out of the case (i.e. is the law controversial, was the ruling controversial etc). I'm not 100% sure though it does seem a bit vague, maybe someone can offer a second opinion?
