Hi everyone,

I would really appreciate some advice from anyone if you could please help me.

I got a UAI of 93.85 in 2007 HSC and also got EAS. I now do Communications and Law at UTS and have a D average - GPA - 2.75 after my first semester. I do two law subjects next semester so me retaining a D average will be hard.

I'm interested in transferring to Commerce and Law at either UNSW or USYD next year.

Is it possible with my results??

Please help, thanks.

Chances aren't very good. They take GPA into account so technically you will be considered as having a high credit grade point at the moment and for usyd/unsw you need 96 uai and GPA of 3[6] to get in basically.

Ahhk - so 96 and 3 average.

So even though I got 3 D's and 1 C - its a high credit. That seems so unfair.

and also I got EAS which affected my UAI. Don't they take that into account when they give you the advised 96 UAI.

Is UNSW for Law any different??

They do take it into account so technically you can get in with 5 uai points lower (i think).

Yeah so your GPA would be:

3x6 + 3x6 + 3x6 + 2x6 / 24 = 2.75

Which is why some unis dont use GPA anymore because people who get 74 and those who get 65 are in the same boat, which is a little unfair.
