In the questions where they talk about increase/decrease in temperature, i thought it always had to be specified if the reaction was exo or endothermic... then i came across a question that didn't say. Is there some way to work out the direction in which heat is released?? I'm really confused.
thanks

They should specify. Maybe the equilibrium change might be an increase in volume/pressure instead so watch out for that.

either that, or it's blindingly obvious... like dissolution of CO2 or something like that...
