is it 'doable' for an average student to learn to languages at the same time ? i'm thinking of doing french and spanish this semester even though i've never done them before. but just this semester. any thoughts ?

can't really answer your question, but i'm hoping to major in both chinese and french so i hope its do-able!

I know of people who study classical Latin and Greek simultaneously (Latin lecturer mentions them frequently) so in those terms it's definitely possible.

But I'm not sure how well it would work with two totally unrelated languages. French and Spanish shouldn't be a problem as long as you can remember the differences (they're both Romance after all).
