Is anyone else having trouble with Lectopia? Two of my lectures have already been posted and we were linked to them on moodle and blackboard respectively, but when I try to listen to them all I see is a black screen and hear static (have also tried to listen to the recording at different points to see if it just started late, but alas). I've tried updating quicktime and flash player, went on different browsers, set my volume to 100%, and I've even tried on my sister's laptop (a mac, mine is a PC) yet I still have the same problem there. These two lectures were held in different buildings too, if that's of any relevance at all.

not sure about static thing but some lecture recordings actually have a black screen as in it's just an audio recording.

So the thing with Lectopia and lecture recordings is if unless you have super high speed internet (as in loads a 200MB video in 10 seconds), you're going to have to play the whole thing from the start without trying to advance the times, so you can't just go from 0:00 to say 20:00. It just loops back to the start and stuffs up. It's a terrible system especially with the flash interface.

The static is like the first few minutes when people are settling in and in between lectures. You're just going to have to wait patiently.

Most lectures are just voice/audio recordings which is why going to lectures is important (generally speaking) because you have that interaction between audio and visual.

If it's none of the above, then it may be a glitch, but I know most of the time, you just need to wait a few minutes for the actual lecture.
