1. i have permitted clashes (lectures) on my timetable. both classes are weekly. what do i do? attend whatever i feel like? could i go to all the lectures for one class, and make up for the other one through my tutes? also, is it true that lectures are sometimes available on tape?

2. is there any hot water freely available on campus? cos if there is, im gonna live off 2 minutes cup noodles to save money

3. where can i find out what buses go to UNSW from central and at what time?

sorry if these qs have been asked but i havent been on BoS for a while

1. Yes, if you have a permitted clash you go to whichever you want. My suggestion is have friends in one class and get notes off them regularly. Never heard of lectures on tapes though.

2. Yes, in the Mathews food court theres a hot water machine + microwaves + a store where you can buy cup noodles. :D

3. Most of the 39x go to UNSW, check stand C at Central. The 895 is the UNSW express.

ive heard that this was true - available from the library, but ive never personally checked it before. Also only lectures for certain subjects are taped, so u'll need to check with the librarian.

yep - i worked for someone who did phys and physio at unsw; she had fullon clashes so she went to physics during semester 1 and physio during semester 2.

if u want to go to unsw from central and you arrive at central from about 8:30-9:00, be prepared to wait... and wait... and then be squashed into the uniexpress with about 100 other students.
beat the rush - or go to town hall, walk up to elizabeth st then catch the bus from there =) timetbles are all at the cityrail website...

seriously don't have instant noodles all the time

its actually very bad for you, if you take too much i.e. everday for 1 month you might end up needing to go hospital for a cleanup of the stomach which isn't pleasent, my firend knows a person who did that.

The queues for the Uni express buses at central are HORRIBLE at the start of Semester 1, for the first couple of weeks, allow yourself around 30 mins to get from Central to UNSW

about taped lectures, yes there are some taped - you have to check at the library and enquire if your subject has been taped

My linguistics lectures were taped!!!!!! But I was lazy so I never listened to them. Never went to the lectures either.

Ask your lecturer or ask at the library.

law classes are not like lectures...they are like high school classes so i dont think it would be useful to tape em...plus they are 2 hours...tooo damn long to listen too :)
but a 2hr tape is too long to attentively listen to... omg then how am i goin 2 survive a 2hr class! :O

are there a small break in the 2hr class? ive also got a 2 law classes one after another, should i change this?...

i dont remember (did hsc in 2002) - it seems to be so long ago now....

but exams i guess are different to classes. in high school (i think) there were only 2 hours classes then we had a recess/lunch. which was ok... but not so sure bout 4hr straight of law classes (Foundation of Law & Contracts 1)...

did any1 do this last year?

well isn't that for all courses- they check your tutorial attendance?
Some particularly malevolent lecturers are known to do spot checks for attendance...
