Letters to Alice and Pride and Prejudice:
Because Aunt Fay goes to such lengths in her letters to educate Alice about the importance of reading, particularly reading Austen, and the fact that Alice primarily disregards this and becomes a successful author of a best-selling novel without really embracing the advice or Austen -- could I argue that this devalues not only Aunt Fay but Austen herself??
Thoughts, anyone?
