is accounting the only major that will give me professional recognition?
whats a good major to do in commerce? i heard finance and actuarial studies aint too bad.....

from what i've heard about the course, accounting and finance are pretty reasonable majors to get into. there will always be a strong demand for accounting skills in the workforce. you don't have to choose your majors until second year, but anyone planning to get CPA/CA accreditation for accounting has to strictly follow their subject requirements. however, you should also do what interests you the most - if you're interested in HRM, marketing or economics then you could take it either as a major or two minors
