hey ppl
i was just wondering, to get a band 6 does that mean that you have to get a raw mark of 90 and above? For some reason i though the mark required for a band 6 changed each year depending upon if certain criteria were filled. But i heard from someone that you HAVE to get a mark of 90 to get band 6. Wat is true??

i think aligned mark of greater than 90... not raw

It's an aligned mark of 90 or above.

The raw mark required to receive an aligned mark of 90 or above changes each year.

When you say aligned mark do you mean scaled? is that the same sort of thing??

If it works how i think it does, it means that if i get in physcis a mark of 85 out of 100 in my exam then although it is between 80 - 90 it may be scaled up so that it is say 91% and therefore its a band 6

Whilst an aligned mark is technically a scaled mark, there are different types of scaled marks relating to the HSC - so we use the term 'aligned' instead. The term 'scaled' is reserved for marks used for UAIs.

Yes. Alternatively, your mark of 85 might be 'aligned' to 79, resulting in a band 4.
