Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone here has completed an LLM at Monash Uni? If so how hard is it to get in?

I am thinking of studying for an LLM specialising in Employment Law starting in July 2010.

I have a BA in Journalism and International Studies, and now I am finishing up LLB at Adelaide Uni.

Now, I am not sure if I should bother applying for Monash LLM as I am not sure if I would get an offer, as my grades are not that strong, they are OK like Credit average but still nothing spectacular.

For LLB I have 1 HD, 4 D's, 9 C's and 9 P's. So overall i'm about a solid credit for law. My GPA works out to about 4.78 - and 5.0 is Hons here so I missed out on Hons, hence I am not sure if I'll get an offer if I applied for an LLM at Monash.

But I have a lot of experience already in the area of employment law as I have been working at two community legal centres for over a year now running my own cases/files in the area of workplace/employment law and I have appeared in both the Industrial Relations Tribunal and Social Security Appeals Tribunal on behalf of my clients.

But I am not sure if this is enough experience combined with my Law grades to get me an acceptance into the LLM.

I know I would do really well in this LLM as it is very focused on the area of law that I honestly love and really enjoy working in (employment law).

So yes, if there are any LLM Monash students please give me some advise as to my chances of getting an offer? much appreciated.

I am hoping the fact that I am focusing my LLM in ONE area rather than just doing the general LLM might give me a better chance at getting accepted...

Thank you for reading!.
