I've been finding it really hard to understand the difference between these two. I've always thought the two were the same, and i can't find a definition that makes a clear distinction

without wings, just some advice, use an example for each one. this will help you get extra marks, because the markers always want examples, because then you are applying that you know the stuff in practical terms

Thanks without wings, i think the best way to understand it is that, visualisation is a form of mental rehearsal where you practise a specific skill, or at least thats what ill be writing for it :)

Hey, I know the diference :)
Mental rehearsal involves focussing on the performance as a whole. For example, you're thinking about completing your dance routine, the audience applauding etc.
Visualisation involves thinking of an individual skill of what you are doing and repeating it over and over again to increase the familiarity of the mind with it eg. a cartwheel from the gymnastcs routine
