why's there no reaction when a lead bar is placed in a solution of potassium nitrate?

In a displacement reaction, a more reactive metal transfers electrons to the ion of a less reactive metal.

Since potassium is more reactive than lead (since its higher up on the standard reduction potential sheet), lead can't displace potassium from a salt.
