I was looking at the course prerequisites for USYD's bachelor of advanced computing on UAC and it states: "Mathematics Advanced (Band 4) or Mathematics Extension 1 (Band E3) or Mathematics Extension 2 (Band E3)."

So what would happen if you take both Mathematics Advanced and Mathematics Extension 1, but only achieve the prerequisite for Mathematics Advanced (say a Band 6), and a Band E2 (lower than required) in Mathematics Extension 1. Would you still be eligible or not?

Since the prerequisites for the Bachelor of Advanced Computing are Mathematics Advanced (Band 4) or Mathematics Extension 1 or Mathematics Extension 2 (Band E3), as opposed to Mathematics Advanced (Band 4) and Mathematics Extension 1 and Mathematics Extension 2 (Band E3), this means that meeting any one of the thresholds satisfies the requirement. In your case, achieving a band 6 in Mathematics Advanced meets USyd's maths prerequisite, even if you achieve a result lower than a band E3 in Mathematics Extension 1, therefore allowing you to be considered for the Bachelor of Advanced Computing.

I hope this helps! :D
