Hey people, this isn't really a question on HSC marks and/or exams, but i wanna know if people have had a problem like i have.

I have a sleep condition called Sleep Apnea. it's been diagnosed by a specialist. If u wanna know what its all about, just look it up on a search engine, there's loads of info about it. some of the symptoms are headaches throughout the day, sleepiness, memory loss, depression and numerous other things that suck royal dick.

it's really hard for me to study and i forget alot of the things we learn in class - simple things. i forget alot of crap but school is the oen thing thats got me worried, i'm not performing to what i should be, in my last assessments i was getting in the higher 40's - not good at all. i may as well quit school now if i'm getting those kind of marks.

i did alright in senior science though - 75%, that was because our half yearly exam was made from questions in past exams and our teahcer gave us most of the question in class leading up to the exam.

i've talked to my principal about it and he's let all of my teahcers know i have this problem, and they have eased up on me with homeowrk and stuff, giving me small extensions which are a bit of a help, but its all still not soaking in. i haven't talked to my principal about a misadveture for my trial exams - as i'm seeing to doctor again when the trials will be on, around the same time anyway.

i wont have been prepared well enough for them, hopefully by the time i sit my final exams i'll have had treatment and can prepare myself well enough for them, and get ok marks to get into uni.

but the thing is if i go for a misadventure- my teachers will go off my previous marks and estimate from them, because this problem is long term, i guess i'll have to repeat my HSC, once i have treatment done.

thanks to anyone who replies, it'll be a big help, this sleep problem i have is gonna break me and screw up my future that i want unless i get something done to help me. :( .

p.s thanks if you took the time to read my post

hmm
is your condition fully treatable?
because if it is, u might consider doing the HSC next year, as u'd probably do a lot better?

Ah, I feel sorry for you! But maybe it's better if you repeat the HSC, I mean this sleep problem's going to put you at a big disadvantage IMO, and you're definately not going to fullfill your potential until you get it fixed... is there any way to get it treated sooner? Maybe you could convince your doc to give you something that would at least temporarily fix it?

I really hope it works out!!!

Thanks heaps people, for the comfort. when i do see the doctor i'm gunna push my situation onto him, its been 6 months and he hasn't done a great deal for me.

but thanks to cyph, i've looked into the EAS scheme, i'm going to see if i can get through with that, but i'm not gonna bludge through the hsc, i'll still get alright marks, but not as good as i want. i'm not going to need a high UAI, around 70 for what i want to do, i wanna get into teaching metals at a high school and tafe level.

thanks people, for the support, it really helps :) have a good one!
