Hokay, my computer set up is simple:
(I'll leave everything out but internet set up)
Main computer uses ICS
This computer connects to it.


Simple, innit?

Hanyway, I play a game, and basically you can't play the game on both computers, cause the game server online says that you are making two connections using same IP (or whatever).

So, I was wondering, is there some sort of program (ie anonymising proxy or something) that'll allow me to play the game on this computer with an anonymous IP (well, by anonymous I mean a different IP to my real one, I don't care if I can be tracked or whatever, I just wanna play the darn game on both comps) , and on the main computer too using the real IP?

you are making two connections using same IP (or whatever).

Unfortunately, this is the important part to solving your problem.

What game is it?

You'll have to use a hub to fix that problem. A simple 4 port hub should do the trick. If you have cable then a router is better.

Well with a hub and a network hub, you essentially turn your computer into a big router thats only on when it's turned on. I'm guessing that his using a crossover to connect the computers to each other. If he has a hub AND cable then he'll have to have 2 network cards. 1 for the cable modem and 1 for the hub. This is how me and my brother used to use ICS to play CS together online.

This makes no difference whatsoever to how the game server will identify you.

Crossover cable or not, it makes no difference. A crossover cable simulates a hub by connecting a computers Rx lines to the others Tx lines and vice versa. It is essentially a two computer hub.

No, i do not use a crossover network.

I have a hub, we have heaps of computers here. Have our own domain, in fact. The domain server is NOT the Internet server. THe internet server connects to the Cable modem via USB, and to network via network card (obviously lol).

However, hub does not change IP. You see, the problem isn't connecting to the server. I can do that fine with both computers. the problem is connecting with both computers at the same time.

CS servers, you see, does'nt care if two people play from one connection.

I'm trying to play Vagabond's Quest 2.
Sad, I know, but the fact is, I'm doing my HSC, and don't want to waste too much time. so VQ2 is good for me. plus, i have a certain someone encouraging me to play.

Having a router makes no difference. The game server still identifies the gamer by the same IP.

I think the internet is sharing fine, but regardless of using proxy or NAT based sharing, the game server will still identify the player with the same IP...

only thing i can think of is using an ip mask program, but good luck finding one for free. the reality is, you ARE in fact connecting both pc's from the same ip. and if hte game server doesnt want u to, then you wont. bl there :[
