Hi, I was wondering if you guys know how moderation will work if the ranks are really close together . I'm behind people by 1-2% and lots in the decimals (i.e. 0.3-0.9%) and the lower quartile by 0.3%. I'm currently in the bottom 25%tile on the box whisker with a 68.86% average. The median is 75.2. in recent yrs my school has obtained 60% cohort b6s (cohort of ~120 students - 64 b6s in 2024, less in 2023 with 48). I really just want a 87 final mark to make ends meet for my atar. Would this be possible if I ace my externals?

I'm also curious on this my rank in english is horrendously laughable

A mark recorded as lower than another mark reflects a lower rank, regardless of the gap between the marks. But when the marks are closer together, the relative gaps would be smaller, so being ranked lower in such a case would have a less detrimental effect than it would in a cohort where there is a bigger gap between the marks.
