2001 has much better scaling for Ext2. Well, they did well in their Ext1, unlike those in 2002 (which I was part of).

yeah but also the fact that 2001 paper was way harder than 2002.

I seriously hope a mark in the mid 60s will get at least an aligned mark in the high 80s :(

Standard and Advanced are scaled in the same way. A student with a scaled mark of 98 in Standard would have had the same raw mark as a student with a scaled mark of 98 in Advanced. Their aligned marks would have been different, however.

yeah, and my teacher said the problem with standard is that not much kids in the state get above 80, so ur betta off doin' standard.
