CONFORMIST. de palma has long been one of america's finest autuers, and has made more great films that fincher, s. coppola, pt & wes anderson combined.
but otherwise i agree with your list.
apart from what's been mentioned and stuff without release dates, i'm hanging for:
brick (just. watch. the.
trailer)
cache (michael haneke is awesome, and the
trailer is super-creepy)
a history of violence (CRONENBERG!)
hustle & flow (supposedly the best hiphop movie ever made; interested to see terrence howard's oscar-nominated performance)
the ice harvest (got mixed reviews, but reliable sources tell me this is a bonafide authentic neo-noir, something that is rare in hollywood nowadays)
final destination 3 (honestly, #2 is one of the most entertaining films ever made)
the three burials of melquiades estrada (i like arty westerns. this looksa bit like
the proposition, which is a good thing)
snakes on a plane (snakes on a plane)
i'm also seeing
keane this weekend @ dendy newtown's indyvision fest; heard it's awesome & can't wait. and an advance screening of
capote, if i can find the time. i like movies.
