Melodic dictation was a bit of a pain, I think i got it though, possiblyextended response was good. melodic dictation ...
Yeah, in class we went through a bunch of them I was excited for question 1 asking what does 'this' meani wished for more italian terms
really? I have 7 in my cohort, they all found it easy.Loving that extra 10 minutes for the essay.
A very interesting exam. It had its challenging bits, and I don't think anyone was expecting to have to write about the Question 3 piece in the essay, but the questions themselves weren't too bad. I was worried about melodic dictation the most but that wasn't too bad either.
But most people in my cohort found it quite hard.
- it was the beginning of the main melodyI think question 1 was definitely the hardest. what did you guys put for the fifths question?
"Turkey Slap"?!? Ahaha.
Honestly, I found it hard. I know I got the structure wrong - it was rondo, yet for some reason I wrote binary.
The modulation question .. yeah, I might have lost a mark there...
I thought my essay was alright.
I'm in a class of 5 and the majority found it easy. This is a shame - I did really well in the trial. Most people here seem to think the exam was at least alright, as did my classmates, so I'm not feeling too good.
Do you think i could get marks for saying that it was used as both a melodic and harmonic device? (specifying bar numbers for each)- it was the beginning of the main melody
- allowed for modulations (not sure if this was right)
- Double stop in some of the string instruments reinforced the accents indicated (e.g. viola in bar 18)
- end of a sequence (e.g. violin 1 in bar 50-51) - or some shit like that
i don't see why not, however, i what i basically do in music exams, is fake it till you make it (in other words bullshit until you see something) so not 100% sureDo you think i could get marks for saying that it was used as both a melodic and harmonic device? (specifying bar numbers for each)
as in it was used in the melody for violin 1 then transfers into the harmony in the viola part
