Music doesn't go down well when I study! Silence is essential for effective study for me.

  • Fall Out Boy
  • The Wombats
  • Bloc Party
  • The Panics
  • Random Spanish music that I can't understand.

Yeah, sometimes I also put my IPod on shuffle mode. You forget sometimes that the music is playing, and your mind is focused on the work. When the class was listening to music whilst doing maths q's in class, my maths teacher told the class that psychologists said that listening to music will affect our exam results, with factors such as environment conditions, lyrics of the music etc. Probably true...not sure.

i have a playlist of music specifically for study, lots of rem, xavier rudd, and just acoustic shit

but generally i like to have background. theres background in class 90% of the time and when its not there i feel a little out of the zone of learning.

I only listen to music when I do Mathematics (not Mathematics Extension 1).

My hand follows the speed of the music. I can do the past papers at pretty quick pace.

I listen to:
  • Remember the name by Fort Minor
  • Forgotten by Linkin Park
  • Huo Yuan Jia by Jay Chou
  • Open your eyes by Sum 41
  • Frontline by Pillar
  • (Get) low by T-pain & Flow Rida
  • 4 Minutes by Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Timbaland
  • How far we've come by Matchbox Twenty
They are pretty quick-paced songs. :)

Cannot be bothered to put line under the song title.

Hear hear to the Jay Chou Music ... my iTunes is filled with all his songs :)

But thumbs down on the Flow Rida song. I've had a bad run in with that song at school because some girls were playing the first 10 seconds of the song over and over again for 75mins because they were practising a rountine for their dance. It really really pissed me off.

english is a subject that does not work with music running in the background..! but when doing anything else, jjj is always good so then i dont have to think about what i want to listen to, but otherwise im quite a fan of: the dresden dolls, muse, interpol, bridezilla, zee wombats, ben folds, red paintings, radiohead, the grates, we are scientists, young & the restless, cut copy, shout out louds, hot chip, joy division, the ting tings.. et al...

I'd have to disagree. Gets the flair of the creative artistic frame of mind into adrenaline rushed action.
