I'm ranked 2nd in Mathematics Extension II, and i go to a school that was NOT ranked in the top 200 schools in the HSC last year. Theres like a 10% relative difference between me and the guy coming 1st.
I read that the Board tries to maintain the gaps between the students during the moderation process, so say the guy coming 1st gets like 98 aligned in the exam, and i get 90 aligned. Because im ranked 2nd....and theres a 10% relative difference, does that mean my moderated mark will be approximately around 88, so that will bring me overall down to 89 for my HSC mark. Is this roughly true?
