Hey guys,

basically im doing bad in school at the moment. i'm year 11, and 17.
my average marks in exams are around 30-45%.
i'm lazy i admit, but i would really want a change. i dont want to drop out because
it is worth a shot although i am doing bad as i was told.

i spend all my time on the computer everyday after school and watching movies.

what is a good way to study through the computer ?
is 1/2 hr of study and 1/2 hr of homework enough for each day ?

my subjects are Hospotality,General Maths,Standard Eng,Religion,PDHPE,Business,
and IPT.

1 hour of schoolwork a night?.. Erm, no offence, but I'm in year 10 and I do more schoolwork then that.

Personally, I don't think that computer + studying is a good combination. There's too many distractions on the computer. I just use it when I need it, then go back to my own room without the computer and do work.

I think it comes down to discipline on how long you spend on the computer.

Set up a timetable for yourself - my timetable has become my desktop wallpaper.

This way you're constantly reminded that you're meant to be studying and the timetable can include treats, etc.. It teaches a bit of discipline..

I'd start off with a timetable just a little bit more than what you normally do but not to extreme so you can follow it properly. Then as time progresses and you learn a bit of self discipline, it can get a bit more harder.

get off the comp for starters. like rolror said, it's way too distracting, and you'll soon find yourself playing a game, chatting, or watching something on it, because it's a habit you've created.

apparently, if u discontinue your habitual behaviour for 22 days (or something like that), you'll kick the habit.

and by the looks of your subjects, you'll need to do quite well in them becuse most of them scale so low!

Get off the goddamned computer. Write that on a post it and stick on a speaker or something.

You can't study through a computer. You make notes with it & do it yourself. No, don't go asking for that smart Asian's or smart person's notes. Make your own.

You're going to have to get yourself some discipline and figure out how much you really want to do better if you want to study properly.
