It's about chemistry, there are 5 kids in my chem class. In the first task, i got rank 2, but it was tied with 3 other people, and there was one kid below me that got a much lower mark. And in the second task it was a practical exam, which im not too good at (im much better at calculations and theory q's), and I ended up getting lask rank with a mark of 62%, while rank 1 who was tied with me before, got 91%, rank 2 was tied between 2 people, with 85%, and rank 4 was 75%.
I've been given the option by my teachers(If I want to), to drop chemistry and join investigating science instead, where my chem marks will vanish, and I will have a clean slate, with investigating sci. I'm not too sure wtd, since chem is my favourite subject and I'm good at the other components of chem, however Im worried that the margin between me and the other students may be too large for me too catch up in the next couple of exams and that my internal mark may drag my overall mark down. Plus i've heard some stuff about scaling, and for investigating sci, I will need to catch up and learn the first 1.5 term content. But investigating will be a much less rigorous course than chem, and it will free up more time for me to spend on other subjects as well, and I will have a fresh restart with my marks.
Anybody got advice or has anybody had a similar experience?
