can some one help me with this question

which sphere of the earth is composed mainly of a mixture of elements?

(B) atmosphere

i thought it would have been the B, the atmosphere
because it contains N2, O2, Ar which are all elements
doesnt the lithosphere contain mainly compounds, like metal oxides and stuff.
riviet, can u explain why you'd choose A

Well I think the key word to be looking at in this question is "mixture". I think you are correct onebytwo as the atmosphere is really a mixture of gases. I originally thought of the lithosphere but it's really just a whole lot of rock and isn't really a mixture of elements.
