Need help with Death!! (1 Viewer)

Hey everyone,
im writing my major work on Death (personified) who meets and talks to mortal. Kind of like Meet Joe Black sorta thing. I need help in deciding a few things, whether or not i should make Death want to make this mortal, Gabriel his successor, but then why? or i don't know what... i hadn't really thought that much ahead. My genre is magic realism, any tips or ideas would be really helpful!!

Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels are a good read for Death personified. I'd suggest Reaper Man and Hogfather for a start. There's also a great Death scene in Maskerade. His scenes are easy to find. All of Death's dialogue is in SMALL CAPS.
