Hey guys, I've got a prac due in a couple of weeks. Topic can be anything really, preferably based on an area we've already covered (Forces, Electrostatics, Conservation of Energy).

Im in grade 11 (QLD), so not too advanced but not too superficial. It would be best if the equipment was readily available (dont want to have to wait till monday to get it from school) so I can get it out of the way this weekend as i'm trying to stay on top of things :p.. Thanks in advance

You could use a few different methods to determine the acceleration due to gravity at the earth's surface maybe?

adding further to that, if you can get a hold of a yr 12 excel, there is an experiment outlined in there on determining g using a pendulum

Yeh, there's heaps.

You could set up a pulley system that would "slow down" the effects of gravity so you can measure it more easily.
You could simply drop something and time it, measure gravity from that.
There is a oildrop experiment that you can do, I'm sure it's pretty well known so a google search would probably find it for you.
You could set up an inclined plane to again "slow down" the effects of gravity (this is how Galileo did it back in the day)
There is one you could do where you get fishing line, some masses, set up a system where one end of the fishing line (with an attached mass) is rotating in a circular path with no vertical acceleration (ie a horizontal circle). The other end of the fishing line has attached masses (which must be greater than the other mass). When the system is in equilibrium you can equate the vertical forces.

P.S. That last one is hard to describe so you probably don't know what I mean.
