Netscape 8 beta (1 Viewer)

I just downloaded it. released to public in around 12 days

it seems so far like firefox with a skin. However, the ability to easy switch to IE is pretty useful.

still supports extensions and themes. but the firefox themes obviously don't work on it.

only 9 megs

looks promising.

i think netscape has had its time in the sun.

i had no idea anyone used netscape

i thought it was dead after its battle with IE

When netscape became unprofitable it was bought by AOL to be made into AOL browser.

then when AOL started using IE as main browser a few years ago, it died.
or rather it was given a million dollars and became the mozilla foundation.

now Netscape is being revived as firefox. the new netscape is based on firefox 1.0
