hey guys, i have some trouble networking 2 comps together whilse sharing a cable internet connection

i bought a D-link router and some networking cables (color blue)

currently i have 2 computers
both i've installed necessary software for the cable internet connection(i've tried surfing the net with both computers and they are fine)
i unplugged the usb from my computer

theres a blue cable from;
modem-->router
router-->comp_1
router-->comp_2

however, there seems to be a problem that the comp can't surf the net
can anyone help me here?

Firewalls

Are you running any software firewalls ?

If so, does the net work without them enabled?

Router settings

Your Router probably has the IP 192.168.0.1

Go to run > cmd > ipconfig

What's the default gateway and your network IP?

If you go to your network connections on each computer, find the connection to the router, and go into the tcpip properties, the default gateway should be the address of the router.

And is there anywhere in the router control panel for Internet settings?
