Great for the person who wanted more space with the shuffle, shit for the person expecting something to truly replace the mini in terms of succession.

The 2g Mini's hold 4 and 6 gbs respectively and have 18 hours of battery life doesnt it?

Yeah the nano has slightly less battery life than the mini G2 but its nearly the same as the regular ipod (15hrs). Probably due to the nano having a colour screen compared with the mini's mono.

Colour screen is pretty dodgy unless they plan to play videos of pictures on it, thereby taking away from the initial battery life

I'm just glad it has a screen. And controls. And other simple things a portable music player should have.

Do you reckon it'll be as popular as the mini?

Hmm, I can't see why it wouldn't. I mean it has a screen, is smaller, and looks chicer. The bad sides are the cost, limited songs, and of course the headphones go in the bottom, not the top (crazy!).

Time shall tell, as always.

I think the people who buy the minis would rather have something cheaper with different colours to choose from.

It's not that smaller, its just thinner and lighter - the height of the nano is 0.1inch shorter.

I could easily be wrong, but thats just my guess.

Apple add another useless gimmick and get people to buy it.

page loading, can't wait!!!

hm, did anyone else want something slightly different?
I am impressed with the ipod size. I am not impressed with the pricing. Or the lack of originality.

I think it fits with the range more - a middle platform between the ipod and the shuffle.

Does it have a removable battery? Why are the headphone sockets at the bottom?
