And?
He could support anyone. Had I known those chants I wouldve posted em up. The truth is in the chants. Choker. ChokerS. Losers.
Yeah, because it was the SUPPORTERS' choice to merge the two clubs. Like you don't think there are always arguments about the Joint Venture among the fans. In fact, go to WORL right now and look at some of the heated discussion about it.
Dude, if it were up to me, I'd want to become the St George Dragons again. But it's clearly NOT up to me, nor is it up to any any one of the tens of thousands of other St George Illawarra supporters.
And I'm not going to sit here saying we didn't choke again. Because we did.
Losers? Hehe, I don't mind taking that tag if we win 17 of 26 games during the season.
In fact, we haven't lost to our little brother Cronulla mates for ages. By the time we next play the Sharks, it will have been a three year gap since they last beat the Dragons. It's a real shame that they can play their second best game of the season (but best on effort and heart), and the referee Tony Archer can use a 6 metre-long "10 metres", AND we can play one of our worst games of the season ... but still win.
Looks like Cronulla are the losers here, Bookie. I may support a team which consistently seems to lose in the Finals, but at least I support a team that regularly manages to get there.
Time is really starting to catch up with both clubs. For Cronulla, 2006 will mark the 40th year of having an empty trophy cabinet. For St George Illawarra, a 27th straight year of the same situation beckons, but at least they are in with a chance of winning the Premiership again. I would sure hate to be supporting a team with the knowledge before the season starts that it is beyond the conceivable realms of possibility that their team can win the title.
Anyway, as you will have noticed, attacking the merger seems to touch a nerve with me. In any case, whether they be the St George Dragons or the St George Illawarra Dragons, they are still better than the Cronulla Sutherland Sharks.
