Well as some of you may know, I recently built myself a new performance gaming computer. Most of the major problems I initially had are now fixed.

Main specs:
- stock Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.2GHz 512KB L2 cache Newcastle core
- 1GB Corsair TwinX DDR400 SDRAM
- stock 256MB DDR3 Radeon X800XT Platinum Edition @ 526MHz

I've been doing alot of gaming these few days along with some rigorous benchmarking. I guess some of you here may be interested in the general performance outcome of this new rig, and this thread can also be regarded as a dedication to the people in this forum who helped me out on selecting the parts (which was quite about a month ago)

Current Futuremark benchmarks:
- 12,300 3DMark03
- 23,259 3DMark01SE

Here are some pictures of Far Cry. When Doom 3 comes out in a month, I'll be sure to benchmark that too.

i get 1700 3dmarks on my 9600SE :D and they will be all the 3d marks i need

don't you need to be running with vsync on at 60 Hz to use TAA?
or is it any frequency.

Haha, that's alright for your 9600SE. What are your CPU and RAM?

I OCed the video card last night, did a 50MHz for the core and a 45MHz for the mem.

I've FINALLY crossed the holy boundary of 13,000 for 3DMark03 (It's now 13,007). 01SE only increased by about 200-300 though, staying at around 23,570 now.

Too bad I got a crap CPU and mobo for overclocking.

I got xp3000+ on nforce2

btw, for those ppl considering upgrading 1700 3d marks is enough to run UT2004 on average quality at 1024x768, which is good enough in my opinion.

It will prolly struggle with doom3, but, meh, i don't play much games, just the occational lan

My PC will struggle to play Doom 3 on the highest settings too. Infact, it won't even run on the highest setting according to PC Gamer.

Well, HardOCP just released some official benchmarks for Doom 3. nVidia wasn't kidding when they claimed that the Geforce 6s were designed for Doom 3. Even the 6800GT beats the X800XTPE. ATI better come up with some better optimized drivers.. and soon. Overall, I'm not surprised though. But what I'am pleasantly surprised with is that the game runs better than most people had anticipated. With the cards like the 6800 Ultra, GT and the X800XTPE, you can crank it up to 16*12 with max AA, AF and the frames still seem to go pretty smooth. Considering I play most of my games on 10*7 on my XTPE, I shouldn't have much to worry about, but again props go to nVidia.

High, 12*10, 4x AA. I think I accidentally set AF to 0 for these screenies, or whatever AF Doom 3 sets it to when the AF in the ATI Control Panel is set to 'Application Preference'.
