Hey all,

Just one to and for the CS students. Does anyone know the directory or server on which we can access the folders we use in the ITS labs?

Ive been trying to find them and just cant seem to get anywhere. I can log on to banshee and wumpus at the moment, but it seems to be a different server, or folder at least.

p.s. any ideas why ssh seems to only work on some of the wireless access points?

umm... it should be banshee if it is the CSCI labs.

or do you mean the general computing labs?

The linux machines in the labs on the left of the building as you walk in (Bld17). When you log into banshee you have access to a set of linux folders, but they are not the same ones as used in your home dir in the labs.

I was wondering if they are accessable via SSH, ilke if they were on the same server or something.

I can run and compile things on banshee, but i cant get to all my files on my linux account for some reason.

I might check with the people in Bld3 on monday. I asked at ITS and they didnt know, so i was hoping someone here might...

When I was doing CSCI subjects it was banshee if I remember correctly. I guess they might have changed things.

I remember they used to be called mordor

$ ftp mordor.cs.uow.edu.au

But were only accessible from banshee/javaXX.

Both hostnames work, I just find ftp.linux easier to remember. The actual server is still called mordor though.
