As some of us may know, nVidia launched their new-gen Geforce 7s a few months ago. After ATi finally released their long awaited R520.. with 512mb vRam, may I add.. nVidia went silent for awhile, until they came up with this. Nice though, since at the time Doom 3 was released John Carmack was talking about how you would need a card with 512mb to fully enjoy it at Ultra settings (which turned out to be BS anyway.. but erm still).
And from the sound of it, it will be placed at a cheaper price point. Also, interesting note, nVidia is confirmed to be working on a 90nm chip, and is expected to launch next year, but they aren't sure. Considering the GTX has been out for over 3 months now, it is feasible, though not likely...
But overall, performance increase shouldn't be too flattering. Rmb the 512mb 6800Ultra only offered what.. 10% increase at best.
