Does anyone here read Icon in the Saturday SMH? If so you should be familiar with that section on the first inside page, to the lower right is a little section for dead techs (like analogue phones, commodore 64s etc). Hold this thought.
Today I was getting dinner from a chinese restaurant (Winston! ) and picked up this really old movie magazine from June 1997. I flipped it open and there I saw an ad for a pager, you may remember it, called the "Trakka". Remember that 1997 was about two years before people started getting phones en mass (1999) and so cells were quite expensive and unreliable (only Telstra and a bit of Optus). Do you think Icon should hear about the "Trakka"? I'm wondering when it died though. It was so stupid, you had to use a pay phone to find out what people wanted. The lifespan shown would probably be 1997 - 1998.
Anyway, do you guys have any other obsolute bits of hardware that you've stumbled across lately? Just curious.
