oi Flyin', u aren't online so i'll leave this here

hey what GPA do I need to transfer into acst/law?

i think I missed the date for transfers though...

Can you foresee any problems with this plan?

elect to do LAW113 this sem and then transfer mid year, and I wouldn't be behind any of the lawyers?

I'm all of a sudden keen on ACST/LAW because I just talked to some lawyers and an MD who all said that it would be a very employable and lucrative option..... I've emailed CEO of 1stLife and I'm waiting to see what his opinion is.

I only wasn't going to do it because a lot of people say it doesn't 'mesh' well with acst. that's coming from students though. Professionals seem to see differently.

i wasn't online cos i had technical difficulties in the arvo, anyway...

to the my knowledge the transfer date closed early january, cos a friend doing acst with us was accepted into acst+accg from acst+law a couple of days ago.

Handbook of Undergraduate Studies 2003, pg 123
Internal Transfer Between Undergraduate Courses at Macquarie:
Double Degrees: Meet the higher transfer criterion of the two individual degrees; if already in one then the student must meet the criterion for the other.
From that, it means you will need to be accepted into Law, which means you still need to satisfy one more requirement (the rest are on 125 but you've already satisfied them): Completion of LAW113 (P) and LAW103 (P).

Now LAW113 (P) is a prereq for LAW103, so I've checked 113 and here goes:
For LLB students, none; for other full-time students, 18 cp in non-LAW units and admission to quota.
The key thing here is admission into the quota, whatever that means. I think you'll need to contact the Law Department ASAP.

if you do manage to start law113, then i see no reason you won't be out in six year (so long as you get that other waiver).

i do agree with ya on the fact that students don't know much about the implications of the second degree... i didn't chose acst+appfin cos i was talking with someone who had recently graduated with acst+appfin from macq and she said the appfin was completely useless.

edit - i closed the thread, so we don't get like a heap of nonsense replies; ur a mod, so you can just reply and it'll work, btw.

well, good luck with it!

btw, you can check out the names to merit list for 101 and 151... on the online.mq thing! riley better not transfer to do maths, cos that would really stuff up my well laid plans =p

Yeah, he did say something about considering to do Actuarial with Mathematics when we were in lectures and tutes. It would be a blow to my plans, but we'll see... :D Otherwise, I'll need a Plan B :p
